February 2021. The world was in the midst of a global pandemic, and little did we know that our paths would cross in a way that would change the course of our lives forever.

It all started with a single match on Bumble. We were immediately drawn to each other’s profiles, and our connection felt instant. What followed was a playful, funny banter that had us both intrigued and excited to learn more. From there, we scheduled our first FaceTime date, and within hours, it felt as though we had known each other forever. We talked about our families, dreams, interests, and, of course, we laughed—A LOT. Time flew by, and an unexplainable connection began to grow between us.

Jordan remembers thinking, Wow, she’s so beautiful and charming. Arushi remembers thinking, He’s so smart and athletic. But beyond the surface, we both felt something deeper. It was as if all the little pieces of our lives were coming together in that one conversation.

We found our rhythm in the small, yet meaningful things. Arushi introduced Jordan to “Roosh’s Song of the Day,” sending him new tracks to set the perfect backdrop for everyday moments. Jordan, in turn, shared his collection of self-produced rap songs from SoundCloud, and Arushi couldn’t help but offer an in-depth analysis of every lyric.

Looking back, we laugh at how Jordan tried to play it cool with his weekly Wednesday texts to Arushi. He’d text just early enough to feel like it was spontaneous, but not too far in advance to seem overzealous—always finding that sweet spot so Arushi wouldn’t have other plans. Whether it was dinners, wine tastings, hiking, or casual coffee and boba dates, each moment together brought us closer as we slowly unraveled each other’s lives. It was in these simple, shared experiences that we truly got to know each other, taking our time to build a bond that felt effortless.

We were living in different cities, which meant weekly train trips just to be with each other. But each time, the excitement of reuniting at the station made every moment feel worth it.

As we continued our relationship, seeing how we interacted with each other’s friends and families was the final piece of the puzzle. It showed us the bigger picture—how we fit together so perfectly. We understood that we were both ready to navigate the new jobs, moves, and life’s challenges together. Even with all the changes, we knew we could rely on each other, no matter what life threw our way.

As we traveled together—from weekend getaways to adventures overseas—we knew we were building something special, something that would last a lifetime. One of our first trips was to Paris, where we truly understood why it’s called the City of Love. Every moment felt magical, leaving an imprint on our hearts and deepening our love for each other.

December 2023. After almost 3 years of laughter, love, and growing together, Jordan decided it was time to take things to the next level. Under the guise of a New Year’s Eve party at the Fairmont in San Francisco, we stepped into the Singapore Suite, where a romantic balcony awaited. Arushi, totally stunned, exclaimed, Jordan, stop it! (in the best way possible).

With our families secretly watching from the next room, Jordan began what some say was the longest proposal speech in history. But every word felt perfect, and as he dropped to one knee, we both knew this was just the beginning of our forever. We celebrated with our families that evening, basking in the love and excitement of what was to come.

And now, we are so thrilled to celebrate our love with all of you—our family and closest friends— in Paris, where it all feels full circle.
